Dear Colleagues in the Film Industry:
The AFMC continues its efforts to create a more conducive business climate for the film, video, and media industries. With the Covid-19 situation effecting all aspects of human activities, including commercial and political activities, we have necessarily had to curtail our efforts in certain areas. Covid-19 has shortened the legislative session and now the legislators are focusing on upcoming elections. Regarding the upcoming elections, the AFMC urges all in the industry to vote! Legislative action will not occur without your participation in the electoral process.
In the meantime, the AFMC continues to move forward on fulfilling its mission statement: to organize film, television, commercial, studio, casting, production, and similar entertainment industry professionals to attract, encourage and promote Media (motion picture, theater, television and digital) production in Arizona and coordinate and integrate those efforts and programs with all appropriate State and local governmental agencies, and to work closely with such agencies to enhance the economic vitality of the Arizona film and media communities through education, legislation, and public relations.
During this hiatus, the AFMC is currently exploring ways to be as productive as possible, while working within the parameters of the current restrictions and political realities. As the Covid-19 situation continues to evolve, the AFMC will keep members of the film and media industry as fully informed as possible. The AFMC as an entity, as we all are individually, is anxious to get back to work.
We thank you for your patience and continued support while we all move forward during this crisis. And please stay safe!
The Board of the AFMC
